Pavement Condition & Roads

Washoe County is required to use all gasoline tax revenues for road maintenance. The County is required to maintain condition of the roads to meet a regional standard of 73 PCI. Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is a measure of the quality of the roadway using standardized survey tools.

Pavement Conditions

The pavement conditions (PCI) of any street within Washoe County is available at your convenience utilizing the Washoe Regional Mapping System (https://gis.washoecounty.us/wrms/).

Road Construction Projects

Large scale road work, such as slurry sealing or reconstruction, is done during the summer months by contract with a third party vendor.  CSD Engineering determines which streets will be included based upon the available budget and roadway PCI. Public feedback constributes to determining the current condition of the roadways by identifying problem areas to evaluate.

PCI Policy
