Volunteer Position: Home Delivered Meal (HDM) Assistant

Position Overview

The Home Delivered Meal Assistant supports the meal delivery process for homebound individuals aged sixty (60) and over. This position reports directly to the Program Coordinator and Human Services Support Specialist II (HSSSII). The role requires attention to detail, reliability, confidentiality, and compassion for older adults.

Key Responsibilities

Assist HDM staff with packing and loading volunteer delivery vehicles.
Sort and verify meals to ensure each delivery route is accurate.
Assist with cleanup after deliveries have been dispatched.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all aspects of service and recipient information.

Requirements

Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry items (up to approximately 25 lbs).
Ability to complete required training.
