Community Engagement Opportunities
Volunteer: Volunteers of all ages help enrich the lives of older adults through service and connection. Opportunities include delivering meals to homebound seniors, providing information about available services and resources, assisting with activities at senior centers, and offering companionship through friendly visits. Every act of service helps strengthen our community and improve the quality of life for older adults.to outreach efforts, and participating in initiatives that enhance social connections and quality of life for seniors.
Senior Ambassadors: Senior Ambassadors are community leaders and advocates who represent the interests of older adults. They help expand services for seniors in rural areas, deliver meals, connect residents to local resources, and support outreach efforts that reduce isolation and promote wellness. Ongoing Initiatives: Through these initiatives, seniors and community members have opportunities to remain active, informed, and socially connected. Engagement initiatives foster collaboration, encourage participation, and help build a stronger, more connected community.
Building a Community That Supports Aging Well

By combining volunteer efforts, community events, ongoing engagement initiatives, and collaboration with residents and local partners, Washoe County Senior Services continues to create opportunities for healthy, connected, and fulfilling aging. These initiatives reflect a shared commitment to fostering dignity, independence, and meaningful connection for seniors throughout the region.
