Volunteer Position: Senior Friendly Visitor Caller

Position Overview

Many seniors experience isolation and loneliness. The Senior Friendly Visitor Caller provides regular phone check-ins to help reduce isolation, depression, and anxiety while offering reassurance and support to homebound seniors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make weekly phone calls or check-ins with assigned participants.
  • Provide friendly conversation, compassion, and emotional support.
  • Recognize when additional support or community resources may be needed and notify staff as appropriate.

Strengths and Qualifications Needed

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Compassion, empathy, and patience.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries.

Requirements

  • Ability to commit to regular, scheduled calls.
  • Ability to complete required training.
