Can I purchase PERS service credits with my 457 or 401(a) dollars?
457(b) participants may transfer any portion of their account balance to a defined benefit government plan (NVPERS) at any time during employment. 401(a) participants may be eligible to purchase PERS service credit within a limited period following separation from employment. All service credit purchases must be coordinated with NVPERS by calling 775-687-4200 or visiting www.nvpers.org. Participants are encouraged to contact the County’s local Voya representative, Tom Verducci, at 775-530-3089, or the Voya Retirement Readiness Service Center at 1-800-584-6001 for guidance prior to separation.
