Join us in honoring all branches of the armed forces with the 19th annual Red, White, and Tahoe Blue concert series, conducted by Maestro James Rawie. This annual favorite features full orchestral and chorus performances of patriotic classics like the Armed Forces Medley, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and America the Beautiful, operatic arias from treasured local soloists, and a lively sing-along finale of Verdi’s Brindis from La Traviata.

Sierra Nevada Ballet will present an exciting evening of dance, song and music, featuring the eclectic musical and dance styles of 10 different choreographers performed by the Sierra Nevada Ballet company of professional dancers. In a versatile and innovative production under the artistic direction of Rosine Bena and Ananda Bena-Weber, this dance program also features international Tap super star and ARTOWN audience favorite, Sam Weber and the fabulous singer, Cami Thompson, and her Trio.This will be SNB's 23rd year performing as part of ARTOWN and each year SNB presents a new program which has become a popular highly acclaimed annual performance at Reno's ARTOWN Festival.

Dionne Warwick is a six-time Grammy Award-winning music legend who has earned more than 75 charted hit songs and sold over 100 million records. She was discovered by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1961,and went on to record 18 consecutive Top 100 singles (“Don't Make Me Over,” Walk on By,” “Say a Little Prayer,” “A House is Not a Home,” “Alfie,” “Heartbreaker,” “Déjà Vu,” among countless others). In 1985, she participated in the recording of “That's What Friends Are For,” which became a number-one hit worldwide and raised awareness and major funds for AIDS research. Ms. Warwick also participated in the all-star charity single, “We Are the World” and performed at “Live Aid.”

Fall under the spell of love songs from Peggy's swinging Benny Goodman days through decades of hits from film and recordings that earned this iconic singer songwriter her powerhouse nickname, “The female Frank Sinatra.” Callaway will close the show with hits from the great songwriters of the 70's like -Carole King, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Billy Joel and John Lennon. As Vern and Karen prepare to pass the baton to new leadership, join us for a special concert celebrating everything that they have accomplished!

South Africa's five-time Grammy Award winners, Ladysmith Black Mambazo has warmed the hearts of audiences worldwide with uplifting vocal harmonies, signature dance moves and charming onstage banter. In 2018 the group received not one but two Grammy Award nominations for two separate albums, a first in the history of World Music. These two nominations brought their career total to 19 Grammy Award nominations. One of these albums, Shaka Zulu Revisited, won Best World Music Album. This was the group's fifth Grammy Award win, the most for any World Music group. In 2019, Ladysmith Black Mambazo collaborated for the third time with the famed Steppenwolf Theatre Company on a production entitled Lindiwe and released an album with songs from the show.

Enjoy overtures from Bizet's Carmen and Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. Mezzo soprano Liudmila Mulling will taunt you with the famed Habanara aria Habanera (L'amour est un oiseau rebelle, while violinist Alex Eisenberg will delight with Carmen Fantasy for violin and Orchestra by Pablo Sarasate. Sopranos Anne Davidson and Jackie Lengfelder will offer the flower duet from Leo Delibes opera Lakme. Tenor Bradley Perry and Baritone Stuart Duke will sing the Friendship duet from Bizet's Perlfishers, and the chorus and solists will perform the Regina Coeli Laetare from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana. The entire company joins together for Verdi's Toast to Life and Love from La Traviata, Brindis: Libiamo ne' lieti calici. Maestro James Rawie, the founder and artistic director of Tahoe Symphony Orchestra and Chorus will conduct.

New York based and Canadian born singer, trumpeter, and songwriter Bria Skonberg has been described as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal). Bria has stormed onto the jazz scene with her smoky vocals, blistering trumpet, and compelling compositions and arrangements. The Juno Award winner has sung the music of Aretha Franklin alongside Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child, played with U2 at the iconic Apollo Theater, sat in with the Dave Matthews Band, was a featured guest with Jon Batiste, performed as part of The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour, and sang the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden for a NY Rangers game.

Dive into the story of Albert and Rosie—talent agent and secretary, striving to save Almaelou Music Company after rock 'n' roll sensation Conrad Birdie is drafted into the army. In a wild bid for a national TV sensation, they plan for Conrad to give a "goodbye kiss" to a lucky fan in Sweet Apple, Ohio, live on the Ed Sullivan Show. But chaos erupts when the girl's boyfriend steps in, turning Sweet Apple upside down!
