NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR DISCUSSION OF POSSIBLE STATE CDBG APPLICATION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Washoe County will conduct a public hearing on at 9:00 am in the Building A Caucus Room at 1001 E. 9th St. Reno, NV 89512 in order to discuss and review proposed projects for applications for funding under the next fiscal year’s (July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2027) State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and to solicit citizen input on possible activities to be included in the application. It is estimated that approximately $3,000,000.00 will be available in total.
ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES UNDER THE ABOVE ALLOCATION CONSIST OF: PUBLIC FACILITY AND PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS, AND PLANNING STUDIES. ELIGIBLE ACTIVITIES PAID FOR WITH THE STATE CDBG FUNDS MUST MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE THREE NATIONAL OBJECTIVES LISTED IN CDBG FEDERAL STATUTES AS FOLLOWS: BENEFIT TO LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS OR PERSONS; ELIMINATION OF SLUMS AND BLIGHT; OR MEETING URGENT COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEED.
The purpose of this public hearing is to review project concepts, estimated costs and estimated beneficiaries within Washoe County. The proposed potential projects will be available for citizens to make their comments known regarding the proposed projects Washoe County and opportunity under the agenda item Recommendations from the Public - Public Comment. Projects that are deemed eligible by CDBG will proceed to application creation. A final hearing will be held to discuss, approve and rank applications prior to submittal to the State.

If you are unable to attend the public hearing, written comments may be directed to Washoe County, at 1001 E. 9th St. Reno, NV 89512. In addition, information is available for review at the above address between the hours of 08:00 a.m. - 05:00 p.m. on Monday-Friday (excluding Federal Holidays).
