Animal Services Vaccination Clinic
Washoe County Regional Animal Services offers a low-cost vaccination clinic on the 1st Wednesday of every month from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
Appointments are released on the 1st Thursday of each month.
Deposit Policy
A $10 deposit is required to secure your appointment and will go toward your total cost.
No-shows forfeit the deposit as a donation to the Injured Animal Fund.
Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Recommended Vaccines
WCRAS veterinary staff recommends the following vaccines and schedule as a general guide. The schedule below shows the recommended age for the first dose or minimum starting age, followed by how often each vaccine or service is typically given.

Core vaccines are generally recommended for all pets regardless of lifestyle. Rabies vaccination is required by law for dogs, cats, and ferrets over 4 months old.
Dogs
Recommended starting age and frequency for common dog vaccines and services.
Cats
Recommended starting age and frequency for common cat vaccines and services.
Microchip
A small, permanent electronic identification device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is injected under a pet’s skin.
Rabies (Core Vaccine)
Protects pets against the rabies virus. Up-to-date rabies vaccinations are required by law for dogs, cats, and ferrets over 4 months old.
FVRCP (Core Vaccine)
Protects cats against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia.
DA2PPV (Core Vaccine)
Protects dogs against distemper, adenovirus type 2 hepatitis, parvovirus, and parainfluenza.
Bordetella
Protects dogs against kennel cough. It is often recommended for dogs that are frequently exposed to other dogs in boarding or social settings.
Pyrantel
An antiworm medication used to treat roundworm, hookworm, pinworm, and other common worm infections in both cats and dogs.
Dog Licensing Fees
Dog license fees vary based on whether the dog is altered, unaltered, or eligible for a senior or military discount.
Altered Dogs
- 1 year: $16
- 3 year: $48
- Senior 60+: $8 for 1 year / $24 for 3 years
- Military active or retired - 1 year: Free
Unaltered Dogs
- 1 year: $30
- 3 year: $90
