Current Occupation:
As a substitute teacher in the Washoe County School District and a volunteer tutor to high school-age foster children, I engage with students across grade levels. These positions require adaptability, an understanding of educational content across a broad spectrum, and the ability to connect with students to facilitate learning.
Before this, I started and grew two successful technology businesses. I was responsible for all facets, including product development, budgeting, hiring, marketing, raising funds, and ensuring that no dollar of our limited resources was wasted.

Government Background:
This is my first time running for elected office. However, I've dedicated my career to working at the intersection of politics and technology where I’ve leveraged technology solutions to address political challenges and foster civic engagement. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of how technology can be used to enhance government transparency, efficiency, and public participation in the democratic process. My background has instilled in me the importance of innovation and adaptability within the public sector, qualities I plan to bring to the Washoe County School Board.
Reason for seeking position:
I’m running for Washoe County School Board because we desperately need voices on the School Board with fresh ideas, who will bring the passion and persistence to fight every day for our students, parents, and teachers.
First and foremost, I’m a parent. Reno is where my wife and I chose to settle down and raise our two preschool-age boys because of its strong sense of community and the opportunities it offers. Like all parents, I want the best for my children. But my decision to run goes beyond my own family; it’s about believing in our public schools.
I’m also a business leader. Over the past ten years, I founded two successful technology businesses that are still thriving today, one of which we sold. From my experience in that field, I know there are also plenty of technologies that don’t work, or that even get in the way of meaningful student learning. As your school board trustee, I will ensure we spend money only on things that actually help teachers and students. At the same time, I understand how the world is changing — and how our schools must adapt so that our kids are prepared to meet those changes. That means creating more opportunities in career and technical education; going to college isn’t the only path to success. That also means more art, music, and other things that help students learn how to think creatively and work collaboratively.
Last but not least, I’m an educator. I recently spent several months substitute teaching in Washoe County, from second grade through high school; I also tutor foster kids in order to help them get their diplomas. I simply love teaching kids and being in the classroom — so much so that I considered becoming a teacher. But just before the school board filing deadline, I was asked by several members of the community to step into this race. After careful consideration, I realized that serving on the school board would provide the opportunity to have more impact on more kids. So I jumped in.
These perspectives all come together in my candidacy. I’m running to bring my experience, energy, and commitment to the table and contribute to a future where every student in Washoe County has the opportunity to thrive.
